Arizona Republican Senator John McCain handily won state primaries in Ohio, Vermont, Rhode Island and Texas over rival Mike Huckabee, winning enough delegates to put him over the required 1191 goal needed to win his party's nomination.
The four term Senator will meet tomorrow morning with President Bush who is expected to endorse McCain in his run as the GOP's 2008 presidential nominee. After decisive wins by McCain, rival Mike Huckabee conceded defeat tonight, promising to work to reunite the party to face the Democrats in the November general election.
I don't agree with him on everything but my congratulations to Senator McCain, an American hero.
