One ridiculous accusation is that the McCain campaign hurriedly chose Palin without a proper vetting process, therefore allowing the "huge" issue of her daughter's pregnancy to cause damage. They have pounded this into the ground.
Well, the McCain camp is getting tired of it. Senior adviser Steve Schmidt threw down the gauntlet on this issue.
This nonsense is over. Her selection came after a six-month long rigorous vetting process where her extraordinary credentials and exceptionalism became clear. This vetting controversy is a faux media scandal designed to destroy the first female Republican nominee for vice president of the United States who has never been a part of the old boys’ network that has come to dominate the news establishment in this country.Mr. Schmidt, thank you for putting these people in their place.
