This is my first endorsement of the 2010 campaign. The U.S. Senate race in Arkansas is heating up and Blanche Lincoln is primed for getting burned.There are several Republican challengers, many with the qualifications necessary to represent Arkansas well in Washington. But a closer examination of the histories and positions brings one candidate to the forefront.
Arkansas State Senator Jim Holt is a true conservative. He ran for U.S. Senate against Blanche Lincoln in 2004 when she was not vulnerable and garnered 44 percent of the vote. Holt was an outspoken critic of Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee the issue of providing benefits to illegal immigration. Holt has opposed tax increases and minimum wage increases in Arkansas.
For these reasons, RSC endorses Jim Holt for the U.S. Senate Republican primary election.
