I've been a musician for more than 25 years. Music is something that reaches beyond our mind and into our soul. It is a universal language.
While I was never a big Michael Jackson fan, I always respected his genius. He knew how to make the jump from pop singer to pop idol. He wasn't just a singer, he was a performer. His choreographed dancing and videos were groundbreaking and laid the foundation for many of the pop stars of today - Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, etc.
Pop music lost one of its sons this week - maybe the greatest ever. Our thoughts and prayers are with his children and his family. RIP MJ.
