In contrast to Pelosi's shop-worn, spin cycled press release regarding the meeting, the Vatican issued the following statement; His Holiness took the opportunity to speak of the requirements of the natural moral law and the Church’s consistent teaching on the dignity of human life from conception to natural death which enjoin all Catholics, and especially legislators, jurists and those responsible for the common good of society, to work in cooperation with all men and women of good will in creating a just system of laws capable of protecting human life at all stages of its development.
Nancy, would you like a little unsolicited advice from the RedStateRocketeer? Things don't go as planned, and you get a lot more than you bargained for when you attempt to use your meeting with the Vicar of Christ as a convenient backdrop for your amatuerish, hackneyed, paint-by-the-numbers political ambitions. You end up looking,.....well,......foolish.
Take a cue from the founder of our faith, Jesus Christ. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:26)
And Saint James (one of the twelve disciples) writes regarding those who want to be popular and march lock-step with the world's shifting values, Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. (James 4:4)
Politicos, is friendship with the world system and garnering its fleeting approval worth the price of your soul? I think not. Why don't you wise up and come to your senses?
Here's Laura Ingram, a genuinely committed Catholic commenting on Nancy's not-so-excellent adventure with His Excellency the Pope.
