Rest in Peace - Geraldine Ferraro 1936 - 2011

Political trailblazer Geraldine Ferraro, the Democratic Party's 1984 Vice-Presidential candidate died today of complications from blood cancer. Mrs. Ferraro was a grand and dynamic figure within the Democratic party. Mrs. Ferraro was 75 years old.



A member of the old guard of the Democratic Party, Mrs. Ferraro commented during a radio interview with John Gibson, that the reason candidate Obama was winning in the 2008 presidential primaries was because he is black.



During a subsequent television interview after the firestorm of controversy that ensued following her comments to John Gibson, Mrs. Ferraro makes note of the nasty and threatening emails she received from the Obama camp, along with the cliams of racism that were leveled against her.
